Plan Your Weekend

It's a party, all weekend long!

The Funkateers Ball isn't just one night or one show--it's a weekend of events where you can meet your Funky friends and make brand new ones! Plan to stay from Friday through Sunday if you can!

Friday, September 29

All pre-Ball events are free and take place in the Funkateers Ball hospitality suite at The Bethesdan Hotel. Check the digital board or ask at the front desk for the location.

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Robin's Circle of P Live

Join Robin Denson, host of the popular internet radio show Robin's Circle of P for a relaxing evening featuring her hand-picked music list, a silent auction of P-Funk treasures, and maybe some special guest appearances as well! Check the Facebook event for auction pre-bidding. The hospitality suite will stay open after the party for more music and relaxation.

Saturday, September 30

1:30 PM to 2:30 PM

P-Funk Karaoke

Let's take it to the stage (or at least the front of the room)...test your pipes against your fellow Funkateers with a casual karaoke session.

3:00 PM

Comic Book Signing with Linda Shider

Q&A and comic book signing of Diaperman, the new superhero comic featuring Garry Shider and illustrated by Curtis Wilcox and Keith Marshall

6:00 PM - 11:00 PM (est.)

The Funkateers Ball with pre-show by DJ Gonzilla

Doors open at 6:00 with dinner and bar service and a DJ set by P-Funk alum Gabe Gonzalez. Meet and greet your friends and make new ones, and don't forget to wear your Funky best! Live performances start at 8:00 PM and go until 11-11:30 PM.

After the Show

Meet at Tommie Joe's

Keep the vibe flowing at the unofficial after party at Tommie Joe's at 7940 Norfolk Ave., a few blocks from the venue and hotel. We usually meet on the 2nd floor but be sure to check all 3 to find the party!
